Bluestripe is run by three partners with a total of almost half a century in the digital media, technology and agency industries. From journalism to PR to content marketing, we’ve held leadership roles in some of the companies that have defined this industry.

Managing Director

Andy Oakes

Andy Oakes - Bluestripe Founder

A media professional who has been in the tech and digital space since 2000 at titles such as Mobile Communications International, New Media Age, Reputation Online, MediaBriefing, and Media Post.

Most recently, Andy was Global Managing Director and Head of Content at The Drum where he helped grow the magazine from a small provincial title to a respected global publication. He drove the editorial direction and set the commercial strategy during a period of dramatic growth and industry plaudits, including winning multiple PPA awards.

Andy has a wealth of experience in this space and a contacts book to match. He is regularly asked to speak and moderate at industry events.


Lydia Oakes

Lydia Oakes - Bluestripe Director

A PR and Marketing professional with over 20 years experience in-house, agency side and as an independent consultant. Lydia has specialised in working with technology and marketing agency clients.

She has developed a reputation for building brand awareness which has contributed to succesful company aquisitions by major corporations. These include Lombardi Software acquired by IBM and I Spy Marketing acquired by iProspect, part of Dentsu Aegis.

Prior to co-founding Bluestripe, Lydia worked directly with clients and as a consultant with agencies including Origin Communications, Bijou PR and Hothouse Communications.

She also spent two years in-house as head of marketing for performance marketing agency iProspect, building its marketing team, and driving its internal and external communications with media, clients, prospects, stakeholders and talent.


Justin Pearse

Justin Pearse of Bluestripe Media

Justin Pearse has worked in the digital media industry for over twenty years, with roles spanning journalism, branded content and PR. He founded and ran the award-winning Drum Studios, the branded content arm of The Drum, before joining Digiday to launch its creative content agency Custom in Europe.

Previous to the Drum, Justin spent two years as Associate Director at content, community and communications agency Bite.

Before this, Justin was a journalist for 16 years, working at titles including IT Week and ZDNet, ending up as Editor of New Media Age where he spent 12 years in total.

He has appeared regularly on television, radio and in the national press as an expert on digital media, from BBC’s Newsnight to Channel 4 news and the national press.

Justin sits on the board of trade body BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) and acted as a member of the IAB Content Council.

Gillian was formerly Marketing Manager at iProspect.
